Sustainability
Sustainable Holidays with Your dog in the Zillertal
Environmental Awards for Hotel Magdalena Since 2014
Our efforts and initiatives in the field of environmental protection and sustainability over the past 11+ years have already been honored twice with the Austrian Eco-Label and, in 2021, with the European Eco Label.
We are very proud that our hotel has been certified for many years with both the national and European environmental seals of approval.
Green Holidays
E-Mobility & Car-Free Vacation
Naturally, our guests also benefit from our eco-friendly measures. Guests with electric cars can use our in-house charging station, which is powered entirely by renewable energy.
You can also conveniently charge your e-bike or e-mountain bike here for your next outing. If you spontaneously wish to go on a tour, you can simply borrow one of our e-bikes. This way, you can travel CO₂-neutrally even during your holiday!
In terms of mobility, the Zillertal Activcard has you well covered. Give your car a break during your vacation and travel for free on public transport. The nearest bus stop is just a short walk from the hotel.
Our Energy Concept
The entire hotel is thermally insulated, all windows have been replaced, and our heat recovery system heats both the indoor and outdoor pools.
The Power of the Sun
New Since March 2025: Our Photovoltaic System
Since March 2025, we've been utilizing our new photovoltaic system, which spans the entire hotel roof and has a capacity of 38 kW, covering approximately 10% of the hotel's energy needs.
We harness the power of the sun for many of our eco-conscious systems at the hotel:
- A photovoltaic system covering the entire hotel roof
- Heat-reflective films on the entire south-facing side, including the winter garden
- A central cooling system with heat recovery
- Our charging stations for electric cars are also powered by 100% renewable energy
Sustainability & Mindfulness
Together, we protect our environment – for people and animals!
- In addition to our energy concept, we are also committed to sustainability throughout the hotel.
- Cleanliness is just as important to us as proper waste disposal.
- We follow a waste separation system for paper, plastic, glass, metal, organic waste, and general waste.
- Inside the hotel, we use natural daylight whenever possible or rely on energy-efficient LED lighting.
